The other side of the police problem is - a lack of equal service to all Americans. Or in some cases - no service. Minority communities often report a lack of police protection and a lack of investigation of crime. African American communities are often subjected to less protection than non-black communities, and poor public relations. In recent years, it has been reported that there is a huge difference in both investigation and media reporting between white and black female victims of kidnapping.
Another big problem - modern police are not handling modern crimes as well as other developed nations. The following crimes increasing and many agencies are still not addressing them; false reporting (by citizens and law enforcement), mistaken identity (sometimes from stolen identities), crimes by religious cults, SWATTING, squatting, extortion, mass shootings, crimes against the homeless, fentanyl, crimes against children and disabled persons, trans persons, sex workers. Also, revenge porn, porch piracy, follow-home crimes, theft of vulnerable automobile models, prized dog breeds, and strong-arm street crime. Law enforcement agencies are often targets of hacking, malware and ransomware attacks - often compromising the privacy of privacy citizens and costing municipalities millions.
