Wrongful Prosecution is one of the most painful practices by actual people under the cover of institution. Wrongful prosecution involves the intentional, active facilitation of a miscarriage of justice. Wrongful prosecution can be the intentional prosecution of an innocent person, the overcharging of a guilty party, the overcharging of a person based on their racial, political, gender or religious status, or the overcharging of a public figure - in an effort to gain political favor with voters or officials.
Wrongful prosecutions aren't just unintended consequences of institutionalized racism or accidents made by incompetent defense attorneys or biased judges. Wrongful prosecutions are intentional conspiracies by police and/or prosecutors - to put innocent people in jail. Wrongful prosecution uses all the political, police and media power of the state to unfairly, unethically and illegally crush an individual. The fact of the matter is - there is really no way to enforce what few standards exist today, and all states protect rogue prosecutors and judges with immunity laws. In some cases, the false prosecution is obvious, often motivated by politics, racism or corruption.
